1K Rogi Mitras to be appointed in health institutions: Shandil
Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr (Col) Dhani Ram Shandil unfurled the national flag as the chief guest at the district-level function organised at the Police Ground in Dharamsala on the occasion of Himachal Day and also took the salute of the march past.
Addressing gathering on the occasion, minister said around one thousand Rogi Mitras would be appointed in health institutions of the state. Under the Mukhyamantri Vridhjan Care Scheme, provision would be made for health and paramedical staff to go to homes and provide health test facility through mobile health vans for the people of 70 years or above.
He said by starting a new scheme Acharya Charak Yojana, free tests and necessary medicines would be made available to patients in all government-run AYUSH Hospitals and dispensaries. He said the state government would spend Rs 1,730 crore this year on installing modern machines in all medical colleges of Himachal and 69 civil hospitals, regional hospitals and community health centres.
Also, dialysis services would be provided at 69 institutions and blood storage units in 11 health institutions, he said. Arrangements for robotic surgery would made at the AIIMS, Shimla, and Tanda Medical College this year.
Earlier, the minister visited the historic war memorial to pay homage to fallen soldiers. Santosh Katoch gave a cheque of Rs 10,000 to Red Cross Society through the health minister. State Planning Board Vice-Chairman Bhavani Pathania, Deputy Chief Whip Kewal Singh Pathania, former Mayor Devendra Jaggi, APMC Chairman Nishu Mongra, Eco Tourism Society nominated Director Sanjeev Gandhi, SP Shalini Agnihotri, ADC Vinay Kumar and various dignitaries were present on the occasion.
