Rs 4,680-cr industrial cluster to come up near Hisar Airport

To boost development in Haryana, an industrial manufacturing cluster (IMC) will be established near Maharaja Agrasen Airport in Hisar over about 3,000 acres at an estimated cost of Rs 4,680 crore. The cluster will be developed jointly by the Haryana Government and the National Industrial Corridor Development Corporation (NICDC).

This information was shared during a meeting held under the chairmanship of CM Nayab Singh Saini today. Civil Aviation Minister Vipul Goel was also present.

The CM apprised that the Government of India, in partnership with state governments, was developing integrated industrial corridors based on multi-modal connectivity to accelerate manufacturing growth and ensure planned urbanisation. Under the Amritsar-Kolkata Industrial Corridor, industrial townships would be developed in six cities across seven states, with the IMC in Hisar being the largest project.

The project was expected to attract investments of around Rs 32,000 crore and generate over 10,000 employment opportunities. The IMC would have modern infrastructure, including roads and a water treatment and solid waste management plants. A memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the NICDC and the state government would be signed soon for the successful execution of the project.

The CM said of the 7,200 acres demarcated in Hisar, around 4,212 acres were occupied by the airport. The IMC would be established on the remaining land. Proximity to the airport would provide a significant advantage to industries, he said.

It was further said that under the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor, an Integrated Multi-Modal Logistics Hub was being set up on approximately 886 acres in Nangal Chaudhary. Thus, Haryana stood to gain from the presence of two major industrial corridors, which would boost investment and generate employment.
