Nagpur Murder: 28-Year-Old Restaurant Owner Shot Dead By Unknown Assailants; Police Suspect Old Rivalry Behind Killing

Nagpur: A 28-year-old restaurant owner was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Nagpur in the early hours of Tuesday, April 15. The victim, identified as Avinash Raju Bhusari, owned the Sushma Restaurant and was attacked near a café in the Ambazari police station limits, between 1.20 am and 1.30 am. According to police officials, Bhusari was seated outside the café, enjoying ice cream with the café's manager, when four men arrived on a motorcycle and a moped.

Four Rounds Fired By Unknown Assailants

Without warning, one of the men opened fire, shooting four rounds at Bhusari before fleeing with his accomplices. The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital but was declared dead on arrival. The police have launched a manhunt to identify and apprehend the shooters. A case has been registered based on a complaint filed by Bhusari's father.

The exact motive behind the killing remains unclear. However, police sources have not ruled out the possibility of an old rivalry playing a role in the murder. Speaking about the incident, Police Inspector Vivekanand Raut said, “Last night, on the road from Ramnagar to Laxmi Nagar, in front of Nimbus Restaurant, Avinash Bhusari and another individual, Avinash Bhoir, were shot at by unknown attackers. Both sustained injuries and were taken to Hackard Hospital, where they later succumbed to their injuries.”

Old Rivalry Likely Cause Behind Brazen Killing

Inspector Raut added that preliminary investigations point towards a possible previous dispute or rivalry, though a clear motive has yet to be established. He confirmed that CCTV footage from the area and other key locations is being reviewed in order to trace the movements of the attackers and establish their identities.
