Singapore: Singapore dissolved its parliament on Tuesday and will hold the next General Election on May 3, officials announced here.

President Tharman Shanmugaratnam dissolved parliament on the advice of Prime Minister Lawrence Wong, paving the way for Singapore's 14th General Election with the nomination day set for April 23.

The polling day is May 3, said the Election Department in the Prime Minister's Office.
