Breaking: Tejashwi, Congress Begin Positive Talks on Bihar Seat Sharing; Key Mahagathbandhan Meet on April 17
With Bihar heading to the polls later this year, the Mahagathbandhan (Grand Alliance) has accelerated its preparations. A crucial meeting took place in Delhi at Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge's residence, attended by Tejashwi Yadav and Rahul Gandhi. The discussion primarily focused on seat-sharing and a possible face for the CM post. Sources suggest that the talks were positive and groundwork is being laid for a final agreement. Tejashwi stated that the dialogue with Congress was constructive and that the next round of meetings with all alliance partners—including the Left, VIP, RJD, and Congress—will be held on April 17 in Patna. He also criticized the BJP and NDA, accusing them of step-motherly treatment towards Bihar, and claimed that issues like poverty, migration, and farmers’ income have worsened under their rule. On the question of the CM face, Tejashwi dismissed media speculation, saying such decisions will be taken collectively and revealed at the right time. While no formal seat-sharing formula was announced, signs indicate that RJD and Congress are close to an agreement. Left parties, especially CPI(ML), are demanding more seats this time, while Congress is negotiating for fewer but winnable constituencies. Final decisions may emerge after the April 17 meeting.
