Breaking News: CM Rekha Gupta to Chair Cabinet Meet on Delhi’s New EV Policy Today | ABP NEWS

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta is scheduled to hold a key cabinet meeting today with her ministers to discuss the upcoming Electric Vehicle (EV) policy. The meeting will focus on finalizing major proposals aimed at boosting environmental sustainability in the capital. Among the key points under review are the phase-out of 10-year-old CNG auto-rickshaws, mandatory conversion to electric vehicles, and a provision requiring individuals with two existing petrol or diesel vehicles to only register an electric vehicle as their third. The policy also includes plans to fully electrify the vehicle fleets of Delhi Municipal Corporation, NDMC, and Jal Board by December 2027. Additionally, there will be a significant expansion of EV infrastructure, including more charging stations and battery-swapping centers across the city. This meeting is expected to lay the groundwork for the official rollout of the new EV policy, signaling a strong push by the Delhi government toward green mobility and cleaner air.
