Breaking: Jharkhand Minister Irfan Ansari Sparks Row, Vows to Block Implementation of New Waqf Law
A fresh controversy has erupted in Jharkhand over the new Waqf law, with state minister Irfan Ansari strongly opposing its implementation. He declared that the new Waqf law will not be allowed in Jharkhand, stating, “This cannot be implemented here. This is our government, and we will not let it happen.” Irfan Ansari further targeted the Modi government, saying, “Let Muslims live peacefully. Don’t attack our conscience.” His comments have sparked political tension, especially as debates surrounding the law intensify across several states. In neighboring Bihar, AIMIM state president also criticized the central government, asking whether it wanted to incite violence with such laws. Meanwhile, another Jharkhand minister, Hafizul Hasan Ansari, attempted to clarify the situation, saying, “We function within the constitutional framework. Shariyat has its place, but we must balance with the Constitution.” The new Waqf law is drawing criticism from political and religious circles alike across states like Bihar and Jharkhand.
