Delhi CM unveils development projects in Shalimar Bagh
Marking the 134th birth anniversary of Dr BR Ambedkar, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Monday inaugurated several infrastructure and beautification projects in the Shalimar Bagh Assembly constituency, reaffirming her government’s commitment to inclusive development and public welfare.
The Chief Minister inaugurated four newly revamped public parks in Ambedkar Colony, Haiderpur, now equipped with swings for children, seating for senior citizens and improved horticulture. Calling these green spaces “centres of social harmony and inspiration,” she said these would contribute to the physical and mental well-being of residents.
In a significant move, CM Gupta also laid the foundation stone for the construction of the main road and a new drainage system from the Haiderpur bus stand to the adjacent canal. The project is expected to improve connectivity and address waterlogging issues in the area.
“Our government is committed to building a modern, inclusive and accessible Delhi that truly reflects the vision of Babasaheb Ambedkar,” said CM Gupta while addressing residents.
“Today’s initiatives are not just infrastructure improvements, they are tribute to Babasaheb’s ideals of equality, empowerment, and social justice,” she said.
CM Gupta emphasised that her administration’s priorities include world-class roads, healthcare, education, transportation and clean public spaces. She said all efforts were being made to ensure a sustainable and self-reliant Capital that can serve as a national model.
“By dedicating these development projects to the people of Delhi on Ambedkar Jayanti, we go beyond symbolic gestures. We are bringing Babasaheb’s principles to life,” she said, underlining her government’s focus on serving marginalised and underrepresented communities.
