Briefs: Anti-drug drive in schools

Moga: The Moga administration has launched a campaign under which 237 senior secondary schools have been adopted by 24 senior district officers, including the Deputy Commissioner. The initiative, part of the “Yuddh Nashian Virudh” campaign, aims to monitor behavioural changes among students and intervene at an early stage to prevent substance abuse. OC

Bike theft gang busted

Abohar: The police have arrested five members of a gang involved in stealing motorcycles. Sources said the accused include Parampal Singh Pamma and Mohit Kumar, residents of Jammu Basti; Vikas of Baba Colony; Ajay of Sant Nagar; and Major Singh of Udham Singh Nagar. A case has been registered. OC

Two held for ransom

Sriganganagar: The police have taken into custody two persons for allegedly demanding ransom. The suspects were identified as Dharamveer Dharma of 6 PTD village and Sunil Daal of Bhompura village. They duo is being questioned in connection with a complaint filed by Beopar Mandal president Sunil Oswal. OC
