In the dazzling world of Bollywood usually, the kids of celebrities also follow in the footsteps of their parents and take the legacy of stardom forward.  One such case was that of two sisters who were born into royalties of a Bollywood family, however, while they seemed destined to be successful in cinema, they struggled their way to make a mark.

Daughter of Rajesh Khanna and Dimple Kapadia, the sisters we are talking about are none other than Twinkle Khanna and Rinke Khanna, both tried their luck in cinema but flopped on the silver screen.

Twinkle made her debut as a lead in the film Barsaat in 1985, after playing the role of protagonist in films such as Jaan (1996), Jab Pyaar Kisise Hota Hai (1998), Baadshah (1999), and Love Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega (2001), she quit acting.

Rinke also tried her luck in acting, her debut film was  Pyaar Mein Kabhi Kabhi (1999) and after that she appeared in various films in supporting role like In Mujhe Kucch Kehna Hai, Jis Desh Mein Ganga Rehta Hai, Mujhe Kucch Khena hai and more.

While Twinkle distanced herself from the acting world, she remained connected to the glamour world in some or the other by making a career as a writer. On the other hand, Rinke Khanna completely left the dazzling world of acting after delivering flops. She is not even active on social media.

Twinkle off lately shared a funny anecdote of teasing her younger sister, she recalls pranking her brother-in-law: Rinkie’s husband. When Rinke’s husband – a businessman and president of the Observer Research Foundation, visited the family for the first time, Twinkle pulled a hilarious prank on him. She jokingly tells him, “You know, Rinke and I have different fathers — My father is Vinod Khanna and hers is Rajesh Khanna, because of this I am tall and she is not,” The joke left Rinke embarrassed, although Twinkle later shared how funny the moment was for her, saying it left her in splits that she even fell sick after that.

Coming to their personal life, Twinkle Khanna who didn’t make a mark as an actor, married Akshay Kumar, a pioneer actor in Bollywood. Whereas, Rinke Khanna tied the knot with businessman Sameer Saran in the year 2003. Since than, she has stayed away from the glamorous world of Bollywood and has been enjoying a quiet life with her husband in London.

Her husband, Sameer Saran has an impressive net worth of around ₹250 crore, is well-established in the real estate sector, and leads a London-based business.

Despite stepping away from acting, the Khanna sisters often find themselves in the news — Twinkle for her wit and fearless opinions, and Rinke through her association with a famous legacy and occasional online appearances.
