Breaking: Tensions Ease After Violence in Jhujhuri, Over 100 Arrested, Internet Suspended in Nearby Districts

Violence erupted in Jhujhuri village, located in the Hazaribagh area, prompting a swift response from police teams. Upon arrival, law enforcement officials managed to disperse rioters and engaged with both communities to de-escalate tensions. The unrest had resulted in extensive fire damage in the area, but authorities have now confirmed that all fires have been extinguished and buildings have been thoroughly inspected. In light of the volatile situation, a large contingent of police has been deployed in the region, while central forces, including the Border Security Force (BSF), are maintaining round-the-clock surveillance. Incidents of violence also occurred in Sujuti and Shamsherganj, where three people lost their lives. To prevent the spread of misinformation and further disturbances, the government has suspended internet services in nearby districts, including Malda and Birbhum, until 10 PM on Tuesday. So far, over 100 individuals have been arrested. Officials have issued a stern warning, saying no one will be allowed to take the law into their own hands. As of now, the situation is gradually returning to normal, with no fresh incidents of violence reported.
