Veteran Kannada Actor Bank Janardhan Dies At 76 In Bengaluru, Last Photo From Hospital Bed Surfaces Online

Veteran Kannada actor Janardhan, who was popularly known by his stage name, Bank Janardhan, passed away at a private hospital in Bengaluru on Sunday night. The actor was 76 when he breathed his last.

As per a reports, the actor had been battling prolonged illness and was admitted to the hospital recently due to multiple organ complications. Despite a team of doctors being assigned to the veteran actor, he succumbed on the hospital bed on Sunday.

The actor was reportedly keeping unwell ever since he suffered a heart attack back in 2023, and his health kept deteriorating over time.

Post Janardhan's demise, the last photo of the actor from the hospital surfaced online. He looked frail and unrecognisable on the hospital bed, with multiple tubes attached to his body.

In his career spanning over four decades, Janardhan acted in more than 500 films and shows, and he was widely known for his comic roles. He began his career with theatre, and he earned the moniker of 'Bank Janardhan' as he briefly worked at a bank as well.

Some of the most notable films of Janardhan include Shh, Tarle Nan Maga, Belliappa Bangarappa, Jee Boomba, Ganesh Subramanya, and Kaurava, among others.

He also acted in several television shows including Jokali, Robo Family, Papa Pandu and Mangalya.

Fans of the actor mourned his demise as soon as the news broke, and tributes poured in for Janardhan from members and fans of the Kannada film industry.

His family is yet to issue an official statement, and details of the funeral have not been shared yet.
