Simranjit Singh Mann raises Sikh issues at Talwandi Sabo conference
The Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) organised the “Miri Piri” conference under the leadership of the party president and former Member of Parliament (MP) Simranjit Singh Mann outside Takht Damdama Sahib at Talwandi Sabo on Baisakhi today.A large number of people from various regions participated in the event.During the conference, concerns were raised regarding “the long-standing injustices faced by the Sikh community at the hands of the Central government, including no action against those accused of sacrilegious acts against Guru Granth Sahib, looting of Punjab’s river water and Punjabi-speaking areas not being included in Punjab”.Speakers also raised issues of “the failure to release Sikh political prisoners (Bandi Sikhs), delay in conducting the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee elections, no action against those responsible for the Sikh genocide and the trauma inflicted on families of Sikh youths killed in fake police encounters”.
Meanwhile, the police stopped a rally to be taken out by SAD (Amritsar) supporters with Khalistani flags from Mansa district to Takht Damdama Sahib today.
