Thane Crime: Hilline Police Arrest 28-Year-Old Man For Allegedly Molesting 12-Year-Old Girl In Ulhasnagar

The Hilline police arrested a 28-year-old man on April 8 for allegedly molesting a 12-year-old girl in Ulhasnagar. The incident occurred on April 6 when the accused lured the victim to a secluded lane in the locality and touched her inappropriately. The girl managed to escape, rushed home, and reported the incident to her mother.

In a swift response, police filed a chargesheet within 24 hours—an unusually quick turnaround. The victim's statement was recorded under Section 164 of the CrPC (before a judicial magistrate), and witness testimonies were also collected.

Authorities registered an FIR against the accused under relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

Senior Police Inspector Anil Jagtap of Hilline Police Station stated: "The victim and her mother approached us and recounted the entire incident. We immediately arrested the accused and secured one day of police custody. The chargesheet was filed within 24 hours, and we will push for a fast-track court to ensure speedy justice. Such strict action will help deter future crimes."
