Popularly known as Thalaiva, Rajinikanth has earned a special place in the hearts of million. Born as Shivaji Rao Gaekwad on December 12, 1950, in a middle-class Marathi family in Bengaluru, Rajinikanth worked hard to attain the position superstardom. From working as a bus conductor to becoming a cinema legend, his story is an inspiration to many.
Rajinikanth started his acting career in 1975 with the Tamil movie Apoorva Raagangal. Over the years, the actor has starred in many hit films including, Robot, Robot 2.0, Baashha, Sivaji: The Boss, and Jailer, becoming one of the highest-paid actors.
Rajinikanth created another milestone by attaining the title of Asia’s highest-paid actor. According to a report by DNA, the actor’s 171st film, Coolie, as a lead star, earned him a remuneration of Rs 280 crore. This beats his Rs 250 crore payday for Leo as well as Aamir Khan’s Rs 275 crore paycheck for Dangal.
Like his other juniors, Rajinikanth now also split his earnings between fees and profit-sharing. But his fees still remains higher than most stars in the country. For his previous release Vettaiyan, he was reportedly paid Rs 125 crore and before that for Jailer, the superstar earned Rs 110 crore. With an estimated net worth of Rs 430 crore as per Forbes, Rajinikanth is indeed living his life king size.
