Mahabaleshwar Gears Up For Mega Tourism Fest: Collector Vows Smooth Experience, 10,000s Expected At Mahaparyatan Utsav 2025!

Satara District Collector Santosh Patil recently chaired a crucial review meeting at the Forest Department’s Hirda Rest House in Mahabaleshwar ahead of the upcoming Mahaparyatan Utsav 2025, scheduled to take place from May 2 to 4.

The collector emphasised that all departments must work in full coordination to ensure that no tourist faces inconvenience and that the festival is executed successfully. The event is expected to attract large crowds from all over Maharashtra.

The meeting was attended by Chief Executive Officer Yashni Nagarajan, Superintendent of Police Sameer Sheikh, Provincial Officer of Wai Rajendra Kachre, Tehsildar Tejaswini Patil, Ajit Patil, Sonali Metkari, and officers of various departments.

Directing that the police departments should ensure the rush of tourists does not disrupt traffic during the festival period, District Collector Patil said that the work on roads leading from Wai and Satara Konkan to Mahabaleshwar, and the internal roads within Mahabaleshwar, should be completed before the festival.

'Mahabaleshwar should be beautified'

"Along with this, the city of Mahabaleshwar should be beautified. This festival should be publicised using various media to attract maximum tourists," directed Patil, adding that local businessmen should also participate in this festival.

"Buses should be made available to reach the places where parking arrangements are to be made. Tourists should be taken to the event venue through these buses. Officials and staff should be appointed for disaster management. A plan should be prepared from the health point of view of the tourists coming, and various departments should complete the festival-related work in coordination with the organisation to which the Mahaparyatan Utsav Mahabaleshwar work has been given. The organisation should use various historical themes to prepare the entrance to the event venue. Locals should participate in the cultural program. The police and public works department should survey the tourist points for the safety of tourists," he added.

Patil also instructed the Agriculture Department to organise a Millet Festival during the festival.

ZP Chief Executive Officer Nagarajan said that stalls should be made available to sell the goods produced by self-help groups during the festival period.

Superintendent of Police Sheikh said that the police department will ensure that there is no crowding during the festival period and that there is no obstruction to traffic.

"The Public Works Department should repair the broken curbs in the places where the ghats are. Crane arrangements will be made to move the vehicles if they break down," said Sheikh.

He also instructed the organisation working on the festival to print brochures with information about the programs held at various places during the festival and to use QR codes on them.
