About Amar Singh Chamkila

Directed by Imtiaz Ali, the biographical drama delves into the life of iconic Punjabi musician Amar Singh Chamkila. Released on April 12 last year, the film starred Diljit Dosanjh as the iconic Punjabi singer and Parineeti Chopra as his wife and musical partner, Amarjot Kaur. The film traced Chamkila’s meteoric rise to fame through his bold, often controversial songs and the tragic turn that led to the assassination of both him and Amarjot in 1988.
