You won’t believe what Kavya Maran did after Abhishek Sharma’s century against PBKS, watch viral video
New Delhi: During the IPL 2025 clash between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Punjab Kings, SRH owner Kavya Maran shared a warm, emotional moment with Abhishek Sharma’s parents, Manju and Raj Kumar Sharma. After the young opener’s sensational century, Kavya was seen embracing them in a heartfelt hug — a gesture that captured the joy and pride of the moment. The touching video has since gone viral, winning hearts across social media.
Abhishek’s impressive 141 runs from 55 balls marked a strong return to form. His century, achieved in just 40 balls, was the third-fastest by an Indian player in the tournament. He dedicated the performance to Sunrisers Hyderabad fans.
After a poor previous games in the ongoing season with scores of 24, 6, 1, 2, and 18, the opening batsman significantly improved his performance. This resurgence coincided with a dramatic turnaround for his team, SRH, who achieved a record-breaking 246-run chase in 18.3 overs – the second highest in IPL history – following a string of losses.
“It’s not easy for any player to go through that form,” he said in the post-match presentation ceremony, as quoted by Cricbuzz. “Special mention to the team and captain, very simple message to the batters although I was not doing well. Had a talk with Travis and it was a special day for both of us. I never play anything behind the wicket, I was trying a few shots because I wanted to invent a few shots because of the size and the bounce on this wicket. The whole team is waiting for my parents. They are very lucky for the team and Orange Army. We did not talk anything, we just wanted to express and play the natural game. This one is very special and I was thinking that I wanted to break the losing streak, it was very tough as a player and as a youngster, but the mood in the team was very good. Special mention to Yuvi (paaji), I have been talking to him and also thanks to Suryakumar Yadav as well. I have been in touch with him and he has been there for me,” he added.
