Undertrial arrested for rape, murder of 13-year-old girl hangs self in Maharashtra's Taloja jail

Vishal Gawli, a 35-year-old undertrial accused of the rape and murder of a 13-year-old girl, died by suicide at Taloja jail. He hanged himself in the toilet using a towel. Gawli was arrested last December along with his wife, Sakshi, who is accused of helping him dispose of the victim's body and is currently held at Byculla jail.
