360 Delhi villages unite for Hanuman Jayanti
In a massive show of rural unity and cultural pride, the Palam 360 Khap Panchayat organised the Delhi Rural Hanuman Jayanti Festival and Samman Ceremony on Saturday, bringing together representatives and residents of all 360 villages in Delhi.
Held under the leadership of Chaudhary Surendra Solanki, pradhan of Palam 360, the event marked a historic congregation of the city’s rural communities.
The festival, which coincided with the auspicious occasion of Hanuman Jayanti, saw the participation of people from various communities across Delhi’s rural belt.
The programme was celebrated with traditional fervour and devotion, featuring cultural performances and a ceremony to honour distinguished individuals.
Prominent personalities from the fields of sports, education, social work, politics and entertainment were felicitated during the ceremony for their contributions to society. Haryanvi stars Sapna Chaudhary, Pooja Hooda, Pradeep Bura and Vicky Kajla added glamour to the event.
The festival also witnessed the attendance of several senior political leaders and government officials.
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, Union Minister Harsh Malhotra, MPs Ramvir Bidhuri, Swati Maliwal, Bansuri Swaraj and Chandan Chauhan were present at the event.
Delhi Police Commissioner Sanjay Arora and DDA Vice-Chairman Vijay Kumar also participated in the programme.
The event also served as a platform for voicing demands of rural Delhi.
Speaking at the ceremony, Solanki highlighted the role played by the 360 villages in the recent Delhi Assembly elections, asserting that their support was instrumental in helping the BJP form the government in the Capital after 27 years.
Now, he said, the rural
populace looked forward to the government fulfilling promises made during the campaign. These included abolishing sections 81 and 33, withdrawing old land-related cases, fixing circle rates at Rs 5 crore per acre, granting ownership rights to landless individuals under Section 74/4 and the 20-point programme, house tax waivers, allotting alternative plots, and the immediate implementation of the Master Plan.
Addressing these concerns, the CM assured the gathering that the government was fully aware of the issues raised, and was committed to resolving them at the earliest.
“Because of rural Delhi, we have come to power after 27 years. I promise that all pending issues will be addressed soon,” she said.
