Pope elevates Calicut Diocese as Archdiocese; Dr Varghese Chakkalakal becomes Archbishop

With the elevation of the Calicut diocese, its bishop, Dr Varghese Chakkalakal, became the first Metropolitan Archbishop of Calicut Archdiocese.
