This private home is India’s third most photographed place; not Mukesh Ambani’s Antilia, Laxmi Vilas Palace, the place is…, its owned by…

India is home to some of the world’s most iconic landmarks such the Taj Mahal, the Red Fort, the Qutub Minar, Elephanta Caves, Mysore Palace, among others, which are visited by millions of tourists from the across the globe each year. But did you know that a private home in India’s financial and entertainment capital Mumbai is the third most photographed place in the country?

No, its not the lavish Antilia mansion of billionaire Mukesh Ambani and Nita Ambani, the place in question is the ‘Mannat’, the luxurious private residence of Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan.

India’s third most photographed place

Referred to by many as the ‘King of Bollywood’, or his famous moniker ‘King Khan’, owing to his unprecedented success in the Indian film industry, Shah Rukh Khan, along with wife Gauri Khan, sister Shehnaz, and kids — Aryan, AbRam, and Suhana Khan– lives in the ‘Mannat’, a lavish 200-crore mansion in Mumbai’s posh sea-facing Bandra neighborhood.

Over the years, SRK’s Mannat has become more than just a private home, but a landmark, or as some would say, a temple for the millions of SRK fans, who gather outside the gates of the grand mansion, each year on the actor’s birthday to catch a glimpse of their favorite Bollywood superstar.

As per various reports, Mannat is the third most photographed place in India, after the Taj Mahal and Gateway of India.

SRK’s dream house

Originally called ‘Villa Vienna’, Shah Rukh Khan, had his sights set on acquiring the lavish mansion as early as 1997 when he first laid eyes upon it during the filming of his movie ‘Yes Boss’. Four years later, SRK purchased ‘Villa Vienna’ from the ‘Bai Khorshed Bhanu Sanjana Trust’ in 2001, and initially renamed it as ‘Jannat (heaven)’.

However, after moving into his dream house, Shah Rukh Khan’s career skyrocketed, making him the undisputed ‘King’ of Bollywood, following which SRK and his wife, Gauri Khan, decided to change the mansion’s name to ‘Mannat’ in 2005.

Currently, there is some renovation work underway at the ‘Manna’, due to which SRK and family have recently moved out of the lavish mansion and relocated to two luxury duplex apartments in Pali Hill, as per reports.
