10 more industrial model townships to be set up in Haryana: CM Saini

Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Friday said to give a boost to the industry, the state government will establish industrial model townships (IMTs) in 10 districts, similar to IMT in Kharkhoda. This initiative would help realise the dream of not only ‘Make in India’, but also ‘Make in Haryana’, thereby strengthening the state’s economy, he added.

The Chief Minister was presiding over a review meeting on the progress of the under-construction Maruti plant at IMT in Kharkhoda on Friday.

CM Saini said the state government was standing by entrepreneurs at every step. Projects like IMT Kharkhoda are taking Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Make in India’ and a developed India towards fruition. He further said the government would issue all types of NOCs within 15 days through a single-window system upon receiving online applications from entrepreneurs. If there are any obstacles in the process, the state government would resolve them and ensure the issuance of NOCs within 30 days, he said.

The Chief Minister said it was a matter of pride for Haryana that the world’s largest car manufacturing plant was being set up in IMT Kharkhoda. Once completed, this plant would have the capacity to produce 10 lakh cars annually.

The Chief Minister also said Prime Minister Narendra Modi would visit Hisar on April 14 to inaugurate flight services from the Maharaja Agrasen Airport and to lay the foundation stone of the 800 MW Supercritical Power Plant in Yamunanagar. The Prime Minister’s visit will further accelerate the pace of development in the state.

CM Saini said there would be a growing need for power in the future, and to meet this demand, the state government was focusing on increasing electricity generation through solar energy, coal-based plants, and nuclear power projects.

Maruti Suzuki India Limited MD and CEO Hisashi Takeuchi welcomed Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini at Maruti plant in Kharkhoda. Praising the working style of the Haryana Government, he said all required facilities were being provided promptly, enabling Maruti Suzuki to establish the world’s largest car manufacturing plant at IMT Kharkhoda in record time. CM Saini also visited the Minda Group’s company being set up at IMT.

Industries Minister Rao Narbir Singh, Cooperation Minister Dr Arvind Sharma, BJP State President Mohan Lal Badoli, MLAs Pawan Kharkhoda, MLA Rai Krishna Gahlawat, MLA Nikhil Madan, Mayor Rajiv Jain, and other officers also remained present with Saini.
