Srinagar, Apr 11: Dhanuka Agritech Ltd, a leading agrochemical firm, today launched a cutting-edge product portfolio for apple orchard management, aiming to transform apple farming in Kashmir through science-driven solutions.
The event, attended by over 150 participants including scientists, growers, and industry experts, featured the launch of “MIYAKO,” a next-gen miticide from Nissan Chemicals, Japan, alongside other key products like “DELIGHT” (Dodine 65% WP) and “CURSOR” (Flusilazole), targeting challenges such as Apple Scab, red mites, and early leaf fall.
Dr. R.G. Agarwal, Chairman Emeritus of Dhanuka, and Dr. M.K. Verma, Director, ICAR-CITH, led the discussions on sustainable, high-density apple farming and the need for technology-driven pest management.
“India’s food security must go hand-in-hand with nutritional security-and horticulture, especially in Kashmir, holds the key,” said Dr. Agarwal.
Speakers stressed responsible pesticide use, integrated pest management, and drone spraying as climate change alters pest patterns.
Experts from SKUAST-K, Cooperative Society Kashmir, and NAUF Federation praised Dhanuka’s role in advancing orchard productivity.
The company said that it is also strengthening agricultural extension and research through partnerships with ICAR and 15 agricultural universities across India.
Under its MoU, the company has launched nationwide awareness campaigns to combat counterfeit products, encouraging farmers to verify product authenticity via QR codes.
