Kangra schools’ cultural exchange session with Uzbekistan students
In a unique initiative to promote global learning, students from government schools in Gangath and Indora (Kangra district) connected virtually with students from Uzbekistan for a cultural exchange session held via Google Meet yesterday.
The event aimed to enhance digital literacy and communication skills through international collaboration. Mohan Sharma, Principal of Government Girls’ Senior Secondary School, Indora, who hosted the session, said such global virtual interactions are occasionally organised to broaden students’ horizons and foster an appreciation of global diversity.
During the session, students from the Namangan Presidential School in Uzbekistan gave a presentation via screen sharing, highlighting their country’s rich history, traditional attire, cuisine and music. Their presentation drew enthusiastic responses from the Himachali students, who in turn showcased the culture of their own state.
Vishal, a student from Gangath, delivered an engaging presentation on Himachal Pradesh’s prime tourist destinations, emphasising the region’s natural beauty, historical landmarks, and cultural heritage.
The session concluded with an interactive Q&A, where students from both countries asked insightful questions, fostering a spirit of curiosity and mutual respect. Principal Sharma said, “Such cross-cultural interactions not only boost students’ confidence but also inspire them to become responsible global citizens.”
