Experts opined that there is a growing concern among minority, especially Muslim voters, that INDIA Bloc has now become redundant. And this thought, if translated into votes, may change the political canvas of the country. Now the question will be - who could be their new political 'Godfather'?

Congress starts Dr. Manmohan Singh Fellows programme

The Congress party is going to start the Dr. Manmohan Singh Fellows program, which will identify and choose 50 mid-career professionals from across the country every year and who are passionate about building a modern, progressive, prosperous India. These 50 people will be chosen by an eminent panel through a very intense selection process. As per party, this program is a full-time commitment to enter politics with an absolute conviction for secular progressive politics. This is not an entry-level internship programme, nor is it time-bound with just a certificate at the end of it.

Pratush Sinha to head 6-member SEBI panel to review conflict of interest, disclosure norms

A six-member committee, headed by Pratyush Sinha, IAS (Retd.) and former Chief Vigilance Commissioner, has been constituted by SEBI to undertake a comprehensive review of provisions relating to conflict of interest, disclosures, and related matters in respect of Members and Officials of the Board. Injeti Srinivas, IAS (Retd.), former Secretary, Ministry of Corporate Affairs and former Chairman, International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA), has been appointed as Vice Chairman of the Committee. Other members include Uday Kotak, Founder & Director, Kotak Mahindra Bank; G Mahalingam, former Executive Director, RBI and former Whole Time Member, SEBI; Sarit Jafa, IA&AS (Retd.), former Deputy Comptroller and Auditor General; and Prof. R Narayanaswamy, former Professor, IIM Bangalore.

Telangana Govt seeks intelligence report on IPS officers?

The Telangana Government has apparently sought intelligence reports of several IPS officers and their working schedules, particularly regarding how they handle various issues. The intelligence officials have reportedly submitted the required details. The report says, some officers working in different units are not performing their duties satisfactorily. On the basis of the inputs, the Government is preparing a list of the officers to be transferred. Soon, the Government will release a transfer list in which, according to the sources, IPS officers of Deputy Inspector General (DIG), Inspector General (IG) and even Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) rank would be included. Consequently, some IPS officers are planning to go on central deputation, pending approval from the state Government.
