'Ripped Intestines Out Using Sword, Smashed Head With Bat': Mumbai Man Killed In Front Of Family For Opposing Drug Trade In Bandra; 4 Arrested

Mumbai: A 40-year-old man was brutally killed and two of his family members were injured in a violent attack in Mumbai’s Bandra area after he reportedly opposed local drug peddling activities. The incident took place late Thursday night in the Dargah Gali locality.

According to Bandra police, the deceased, identified as Shakir Ali, was targeted by a group of individuals who forcibly entered his home and attacked him with sharp weapons. His sister-in-law Shirin and nephew Afzal also sustained injuries during the assault. Shakir succumbed to his wounds, while the injured were taken for treatment.

Arrested Accused Include Drug Peddlers

Police have arrested four individuals in connection with the case, Imran Pathan, his wife Fatima Zakir Ali (also known as Kaynat), Usman Zakir Ali and Zakir Ali Cendole. The accused reportedly had a history of criminal activities, including drug distribution in the Bandra area, according to a PTI report.

Police confirmed that Imran Pathan and his wife were known drug suppliers and had multiple cases registered against them. Further investigation is underway to trace others who may be linked to the crime.

Victim's Sister Shares Details On Horrific Murder

Feeroza, Shakir's sister, alleged that the real masterminds behind the attack were drug peddlers Salman Malik and his wife Soni, who supplied narcotics to the Pathan couple. Speaking to a local news channel, a grieving Feeroza described the horrific nature of the attack, claiming the assailants used a sword and bat, leaving her brother fatally wounded. “They ripped out his intestines with the sword and smashed his head using a bat,” she said, recounting the trauma.

Victim's Family Harassed With False Rape Allegations

In a shocking twist, Feeroza revealed that upon arriving from Mira Road, she discovered she had been booked under Section 326 of the IPC, accused of retaliating against the attackers. She further claimed that her family had long been harassed with false rape allegations and that medical staff from Bhabha Hospital were allegedly complicit in creating fake reports to support the assailants.

However, there is no concrete evidence mentioned by the cops to support Feeroza's allegations as of now. She also stated that the family had previously lodged complaints against the accused, who had been issuing threats, but no effective action was taken.
