Applications invited for opening fair price shops in Shimla district
Applications have been invited for opening of fair price shops at 22 new places under the public distribution system (PDS) in Shimla district.
Narend Kumar Dhiman, District Controller, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, said, “It has been decided to open new fair price shops at 22 places and gram panchayats. The decision has been taken at the meeting of the public distribution system committee held on February 14.”
He said interested persons/institutions could apply for opening a shop by uploading the desired information and other documents online on the portal www.fair price.gov.in. He said applications would not be accepted through any other medium. The applications should be uploaded by May 2, he said. “The minimum qualification to apply is matriculation. The age of applicant should be between 18 years and 45 years. Along with the application form, matriculation and other higher education certificates, if any, and certificate of financial status, ex-servicemen, disability, educated unemployed, regarding self or any family member not being in regular employment and widow or single woman have to be uploaded on the website,” he said.
“Applicants can also mention if they belong to BPL/SC/OBC/ST categories. If an applicant belongs to the same place where the fair price shop is proposed to be opened, then it is also mandatory to upload the copies of the certificate issued by the panchayat attested by the authorised officer. Without the required documents, the application will be rejected/cancelled,” he added. — TNS
