Reading, writing is a creative hobby: Munjal

Avid readers and writing enthusiasts at Spring Dale Senior School today got an opportunity to interact with noted author Swati Munjal. Munjal is the writer of the book, Teaspoons Full of Love and Positivity — Life Etched Into Poems.

Addressing the session, Dr Kirat Sandhu Cheema, Director, Spring Dale Educational Society, shared that this interactive session-cum-workshop was attended by the student members of the school’s editorial club, literary club and readers among students and teachers, who opted to be a part of the session due to their flair for reading and creative writing. “The interactive session provided an insight to these young reading-writing enthusiasts about the opportunities and skill development in the field of creative writing and also inspired the students to learn from the individual struggle undertaken by the author to develop her skill set by overcoming the challenges,” said Dr Kirat.

Munjal encouraged students to write their experiences, every day or otherwise, while she emphasised on journaling as an important exercise for beginner writers.

Principal Rajiv Kumar Sharma said in his message for the occasion that the school finds opportunities to organise such interactions which go a long way in honing the creative skills of the students and polish the finer aspects of their personality.

“Reading as a creative hobby keeps the young minds meaningfully engaged while providing them an opportunity to enhance their knowledge besides cultivating a rational outlook towards life,” said Sharma who himself has penned a series of books as a compilation of his own thoughts in the form of verse.
