Bikramjit’s journey to success demonstrates a unique transition from agriculture to the corporate world and back again. After his graduation in 2005, Bikram initially worked a standard office job in insurance while managing a small farm. After facing initial setbacks in pomegranates business, he changed to lemon cultivation. He completed his medical degree in 2010, he pursued a career in banking before returning to farming in 2014, establishing a profitable agricultural enterprise.
Increased Farming By Taking Land On Lease
Bikramjit Singh expanded organic farming by taking 200 acres of land on lease. He planted fruit orchards in 100 acres. He grew wheat, basmati rice, maize, sugarcane and vegetables in the remaining 100 acres. His passion for organic farming led him to contract farming.
Now as many as 600 farmers are doing organic farming with him on 8,000 acres of land. He gives prices above the minimum support price to the farmers. This gives them a good income.
Laying The Foundation Of ‘Healthy Earth’ Brand
To take his business forward, Bikramjit founded ‘Healthy Earth’. More than 216 organic products are available in his store. Apart from this, he has also started organic food restaurants. Ragi is the main attraction in the menu. It is a powerhouse of nutrition. Bikramjit is also committed to motivating the youth. Even though his cousins have gone abroad, he wants to create employment opportunities in Punjab.
With the help of modern technology, smart management skills and the support of local farmers, he has built a business worth Rs 100 crore.
