The preparations are in full swing for Multan Sultans, champions of the 2021 Pakistan Super League season ahead of their first outing this Saturday. Leading the charge is skipper Mohammad Rizwan, who sparked energy into the squad with an inspiring speech in Urdu during a team huddle at practice. However, England all-rounder David Willey was left bewildered when being asked if he understood the speech. He replied ' Treat the conditions' leaving everyone in splits

Mohammad Rizwan's motivating speech to Multan Sultans's squad

Rizwan set the tone for the campaign with powerful words about belief, unity, and ambition. He reminded his players that a winning mindset is the foundation of success both in cricket and in life.

He said, "To everyone present here, our mindset will be so strong and elevated that it will decide the course of our lives, not just this tournament. Whatever we talk about between ourselves, it will be about winning, about becoming champions. Even if we have just a 0.99% chance, we must still talk like champions. Nothing less than that,"

He further added, "From management to players, everyone must remember that the final is on this date, and this is how we will reach and play it. The purpose of me speaking in this meeting is to ensure that the final's date is fixed in your mind and there should be any other doubts on qualification scenarios,"

Pakistan's white ball skipper was in news recently for his pre- and post-match interviews in English during the Champions Trophy. Not only the fans but former Australia spinner Brad Hogg had also decided to have some fun at the expense of the wicketkeeper-batsman. The change in language was welcome change.

How have Multan Sultans performed under Rizwan's leadership?

Rizwan has been leading Multan Sultans since 2021 and has done a brilliant job so far. In his first season as the captain, he led the team to its first PSL title. Multan Sultans finished as runners-up in the next 3 seasons and will be desperate to go all the way this year.
