'Yeh Satya Nahi Hai': Electricity Board Official DENIES Sending ₹1 Lakh Bill For Kangana Ranaut's Manali House, Claims She Hasn't Clear Dues For 3 Months
Actress-politician Kangana Ranaut grabbed eyeballs on Wednesday after she claimed at an event in Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, that she received a Rs 1 lakh electricity bill for her house in Manali, where she does not even live. And now, a state electricity board official has clarified that she received the massive bill because she did not clear the dues for the past three months.
Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board Ltd MD, Sandeep Kumar, began, "Madam Kangana Ranaut alleged yesterday that she received a bill of Rs 1 lakh for her Manali house where she does not even stay. Main aapko batana chahunga ki yeh satya nahi hai."
He then showed all the bills and transactions related to Kangana's Manali house as proof, and claimed that she received an electricity bill of Rs 55,000 in March. But she was sent a total bill of a little over Rs 91,000 as she is yet to pay the bills of January and February.
"Her bills for January and February amount to around Rs 32,000. When all of it is added, along with the penalty for late payment, the total figure amounts to Rs 91,000 approximately, and not Rs 1 lakh," he said.
"Had she paid the bills for January and February on time, she would have received only Rs 55,000 bill for this month," he added.
Kumar also said that she consumed 9000 units of electricity in March. "She said that she does not live in the house. But the meter will crunch numbers only when power is consumed. So electricity was consumed at her Manali residence and hence, she received the bill," he clarified.
"I would also like to bring it to your notice that she also received the Rs 700 subsidy in her bill in March as per the government regulations," he added.
Attacking the Himachal Pradesh government during an event in Mandi on Wednesday, Kangana cited her electricity bill amount and said that the state was in a miserable condition. "I read and feel ashamed as to what is happening. But we have a chance now. This is an obligation for all of us, that we have to take this country, this state, on the path of progress. I would say that these people are wolves, and we have to free our state from their claws," she said.
On the work front, Kangana was last seen in her pet project, Emergency, which also marked her directorial debut. In the film, she played the role of late Prime Minister of India, Indira Gandhi, and it also starred Anupam Kher, Satish Kaushik, Mahima Chaudry, Shreyas Talpade, Milind Soman, and others in key roles.
