Tahawwur Rana Extradited: 26/11 Mastermind to Face Trial in India Today | abp news
Tahawwur Hussain Rana, a key accused in the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, is being extradited to India from the United States. Sources reveal that he will arrive in Delhi by this afternoon and will be taken directly to the NIA Headquarters under tight security. SWAT commandos, CISF, and Delhi Police will escort him in a bulletproof vehicle from Palam Technical Airport. Once at the NIA office, he will undergo a medical check-up followed by court proceedings. The NIA is expected to seek his remand for interrogation. Rana is accused under a 2009 UAPA FIR, and India has long pursued his extradition. The US finally approved the handover after evaluating India’s evidence, despite Rana’s legal appeals. Officials see his extradition as a major opportunity to expose Pakistan’s military and terror links. India's diplomatic efforts, including those led by NSA Ajit Doval, played a crucial role in securing his return.
