Breaking News: Tahawwur Rana Extradited to India, Justice for 26/11 Victims Nears | ABP NEWS
Tahawwur Hussain Rana, one of the key conspirators of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, is finally being brought to India from the US after years of legal battle. Rana, a Pakistani-origin Canadian citizen, served as a doctor in the Pakistan Army before moving to Canada and later the US. He was convicted in the US in 2011 for supporting terror plots against Denmark but was not convicted for the Mumbai attacks. However, Indian authorities had long pursued his extradition due to his close ties with David Headley, a key accused in the 26/11 case. After his arrest in 2020 and a long legal battle, a US court approved Rana’s extradition in 2023, which has now been executed. He is being flown to Delhi under tight security by a joint team of NIA and RAW officials. On arrival, he is expected to be taken to Tihar Jail. His extradition is a major diplomatic and legal win for India and offers hope for justice to the victims of the 2008 attacks that killed 166 people. India has made it clear to the world that it never forgets those who attack its people and will pursue justice relentlessly.
