Gangwa listens to grievances at redressal panel meet in Karnal

Haryana Public Works and Public Health Engineering Minister Ranbir Gangwa on Wednesday, while responding to a media query on the frequent parole granted to Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim, said such matters fall under the jurisdiction of the jail manual and not the government.

Gangwa said, “Do you have records of other prisoners too? There are jail manuals in place. The government has no direct role in this. There are established rules and procedures under which such bail or parole is granted.”

“The case is often highlighted, which is why such questions are repeatedly asked. But inmates also have their rights, and those rights are protected by law. Whatever is granted to them is within the framework of those rights and jail manuals,” he said on the side lines of the District Public Relations and Grievance Redressal Committee meeting at the Panchayat Bhawan here today.

Out of 13 complaints taken up during the meeting, seven were resolved on the spot, while the remaining six were marked for re-investigation, with instructions to present updated reports in the next session.

Gangwa directed all officials and employees to resolve public grievances promptly and on a priority basis, while ensuring that no citizen was harassed unnecessarily. Addressing the gathering, Minister Gangwa emphasised that the BJP government in the state had been formed for the third consecutive time, owing to the faith and trust of the people. He said under the leadership of Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, the state was now witnessing a “triple-engine government”, working efficiently to address public concerns. Highlighting upcoming developments, the minister shared that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would visit Haryana on April 14, bringing significant gifts for the state. “Haryana will soon get its first airport in Hisar, with the first flight scheduled to Ayodhya, enabling pilgrims to visit Ram Lalla. Additionally, flights to Ahmedabad, Srinagar and Chandigarh will also be available from Hisar,” he said.

He said, “PM Modi is also scheduled to lay the foundation stone for a new unit of the Yamunanagar Thermal Power Plant and address massive public rallies at two locations.”

Responding to media questions regarding criticism from the Opposition about the Hisar airport boundary wall, Minister Gangwa clarified that approximately Rs 20 crore was spent on the wall, which was built in accordance with proper design and measurements. He accused the Opposition of misleading the public and being rattled by the rapid development under the BJP government.

He also lauded the connectivity boost in Haryana, while sharing that improved highways saved both time and money of commuters.
