20-Year-Old Shuchi Upadhyay From MP's Mandla Selected For Indian Women’s Cricket Team; To Play In Tri-Series Opener Against Sri Lanka On April 27
Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A 20-year-old tribal girl from Mandla district in Madhya Pradesh, Shuchi Upadhyay, has turned her childhood dream into reality by earning a spot in the Indian women’s cricket team.
She has been selected to play for the Indian women’s cricket team in the upcoming tri-series in Sri Lanka.
Shuchi is a talented left-arm spin bowler who has impressed everyone with her skill and dedication. Her journey began at the age of 12, when she started playing cricket with boys in open tournaments at the Mahatma Gandhi ground in Mandla. From those early days in the streets of her hometown, she has worked hard to reach this big stage.
After the news of her selection, the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Maurya Yadav, congratulated Shuchi on Twitter and praised her for making the state and the country proud.
“There is no shortcut to success. Hard work is the only way,” says Shuchi, who never gave up on her dream despite challenges. Her father also shared how the family stood by her and supported her every step of the way. “We are so proud of her,” he said.
