Meet Manoj Kumar’s wife Shashi Goswami, whose parents objected to their relationship; Here’s what their sons are doing now
Veteran actor Manoj Kumar who bid farewell to the world on April 4 was 87. He managed to charm audiences of all generations with his patriotic movies like Shaheed, Roti Kapda Aur Makaan, Purab Aur Paschim, Upkar, Kranti and Shor. Fondly known across generations as ‘Bharat Kumar’, he worked for five decades in 45 films. Behind his successful career, it was his wife Shashi Goswami and dated for a couple of years first. Their love story began in Delhi during their college years.
In an old interview taken in 2013, Kumar recalled seeing Shashi for the first time at a friend’s house in Old Delhi and was immediately captivated by her presence. While speaking to Danik Jagran, the veteran superstar shared, “God’s swear, I have never seen any girl with some bad intentions in my whole life, but there was something magical about Shashi that I couldn’t take my eyes off her face.”
Do you know Shashi’s family was against her relationship with Manoj, their relationship thrived on mutual respect and compromises and one day they succeeded. They had two sons Kunal Goswami and Vishal Goswami.

Vishal has produced films like the 1989 movie Clerk. Whereas, Kunal made his debut as a child actor in Kranti. He later worked in movies like Jai Hind and Aakhri Baazi, before moving away from films into business. Both the sons didn’t found lasting success.
