The All-Electric VinFast VF 6 SUV: Merging Design and Efficiency in the EV Market?
New Delhi: Vietnamese car manufacturer VinFast is expanding its global presence into India, adding to its existing markets in Asia, North America, and Europe. At the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, VinFast’s CEO for Asia, Mr. Pham Sanh Chau, introduced the VF 6 and its counterpart, the VF 7, as models intended to increase electric vehicle adoption in India and influence the country’s electric mobility landscape. The VF 6 is described as a premium SUV developed on a dedicated platform, with a design concept centered on “The Duality in Nature.”
The VF 6 features an exterior design that attempts to balance dynamic and restrained elements, including flowing lines and a V-shaped LED light signature. The vehicle’s aerodynamic proportions aim to reduce drag while maintaining a stable appearance.
The interior of the VF 6 offers a spacious cabin with a modern design. A large touchscreen is central to the dashboard, reducing the number of physical buttons and simplifying controls. The seating and materials are designed for comfort.
The VF 6 has already been launched in Vietnam and Europe, where it has received feedback regarding its pricing, design, and driving experience. In Vietnam, it has been noted for its accessibility, particularly for new EV drivers. The model is now planned for the Indian market, with local manufacturing intended in Tamil Nadu to meet the anticipated demand for electric vehicles. The VF 6 is part of VinFast’s broader plan to participate in India’s EV market and encourage sustainable mobility.
