Pakistani Actress Hania Aamir Supports Apoorva Mukhija After She Shares Screenshots Of Threatening Messages & Abusive Comments

Pakistani actress Hania Aamir has come out in support of social media influencer and actress Apoorva Mukhija, aka The Rebel Kid, who has been receiving death and rape threats following the India's Got Latent controversy.

On Tuesday (April 8), Apoorva shared screenshots of hundreds of comments and threatening messages she received in the last two months, after her appearance as a guest on stand-up comedian Samay Raina's YouTube show.

Hania re-shared a video which was posted by Apoorva's close friend Sufi Motiwala in which he defended Apoorva and lashed out at those who have been abusing and threatening the influencer-turned-actress.

"A separate place in hell," Hania captioned her Instagram story. Take a look:

In the video, Sufi, who is a fashion commentator and content creator, said, "Rebel Kid removed all her posts in lieu of the controversy which I personally feel she didn't deserve to be in... I want people to understand that what might come across as a mean, harmful or an evil text was her reality for 45 to 60 days endlessly on a loop."

He read a few messages and comments filled with hate, abusive language, rape threats and death threats.

Further addressing the trolls and online abusers, Sufi said, "Somehow these losers and disgusting men have the guts to stand behind a blank profile and terrorise a 23-year-old woman. Why? Because she defended her own dignity when a man terrorised her and her private parts. You would, the same men, not do the same thing when a man did the same thing to your sister or a friend of yours?"

He added, "You are not a man, you will never be a man because those are not the traits of men and I hope you find a beautifully designated place for yourself in hell."

Apoorva Mukhija's Latent controversy

Apoorva faced immense backlash and even legal action after she appeared in the controversial episode of India's Got Latent alongside YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia, Samay and YouTuber Ashish Chanchlani.

During the episode, she was seen asking a contestant if he had ever seen a vagina. She was also seen laughing at Ranveer's objectionable comment on parents having sex.

Multiple FIRs were filed against Apoorva, Ranveer, Ashish and Samay. Last month, Apoorva was also hounded and mobbed when she stepped out in the city to record her statement with the Mumbai Police.

She told the cops in her official statement that the format of India's Got Latent was such that the panelists were asked to "talk openly" on the platform. She also said that the show was not scripted.

Meanwhile, Apoorva unfollowed everyone on Instagram and on April 1, she even deleted all her posts, leaving her fans concerned. On the work front, she was seen in the film Naadaaniyaan, however, she was absent during the film's premiere and promotions. She played the role of Khushi Kapoor's character's best friend.
