Youth, Relatives Create Ruckus At Chhatarpur Hospital

Chhatarpur (Madhya Pradesh): A youth and his relatives created a ruckus in the district hospital on Monday night.

They misbehaved with the doctors, beat up some of them and damaged the hospital properties, sources said. Soon after the incident, the doctors struck work.

They resumed work only after the police and the chief medical and health officer, Dr RP Gupta, assured them of acting against the culprits.

According to reports, the youth who manhandled a few doctors was identified as Deepak Kushwaha, a resident of the Rajnagar area.

Four men and seven women of a family, who sustained injuries in a road accident on Monday night, came to the district hospital. They have had a fight with the doctors since morning.

Surgeon of the hospital Dr Badri Patel said that he had spoken to the injured, wishing to know their problems, and assured them of all help.

But Kushwaha strangely behaved with the doctors, and a few women members of the family damaged the properties of the hospital. They also beat up some employees.

Meanwhile, in charge of the Kotwali police, Arvind Dangi and SDM Akhil Rathore also reached the hospital.

They held a meeting with the doctors and took feedback on the incident.

After an inquiry about the incident, it came to light that the main culprit, Kushwaha, is mentally challenged and declared himself a ‘Kalki Avatar’, the Kalki form of Lord Vishnu, according to Hindu religious scriptures.

Dr Gupta said the hospital management would act against the culprit after an inquiry. After the incident, the doctors demanded the collector and superintendent of police provide security to the on-duty doctors in the district hospital.
