Data Disaster Averted? CBSE Offers Last-Minute Fix For Schools’ LOC Errors
Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Despite repeated reminders from the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), many schools have failed to submit accurate data for the 2025 List of Candidates (LOC), leading to a surge in correction requests.
In response to these errors, CBSE has now announced a limited window for schools to rectify mistakes in the submitted candidate details. The correction facility will be available from April 9 to April 17, 2025, via the Central Admission Master Correction (CAMC) Portal.
This latest step by CBSE comes after multiple warnings, including a series of reminders sent in September and October 2024, urging schools to ensure the accuracy of student data, such as names, dates of birth, and parent details.
Despite these clear directives, many schools continued to submit incorrect information, prompting the Board to intervene once again.
The correction window offers schools a final chance to address discrepancies before the data is finalised for the issuance of marks statements and examination results. The Board emphasised that no further corrections will be allowed after this period, stressing the urgency for schools to act swiftly. Dr Sanyam Bhardwaj, controller of examinations at CBSE, underscored the critical nature of the correction window, stating: "We are providing this last opportunity for schools to correct the data to ensure accurate marks statements for candidates.
It is essential that schools take immediate action to address these errors, as any further corrections will not be entertained after this period." With the clock ticking, schools are now required to submit corrected data along with supporting documents, including the Admission Form, Admission Withdrawal Register, and Transfer Certificate, if applicable.
A processing fee of Rs 1000 per candidate will also be charged for regular candidates. This initiative is part of CBSE's ongoing efforts to maintain the integrity of the examination process and provide accurate academic records for students across India.
Schools are urged to comply with the guidelines and make the necessary updates before the correction window closes on April 17, 2025.
