Man held for murdering JCB driver in Theog
A man has been arrested for allegedly murdering a JCB driver in Theog subdivision, Shimla.
The victim, identified as 35-year-old Ravi Kumar from Nalaut village, Mandi, was reportedly beaten to death by the accused, Anil, aged 24, from Raudi village, Solan.
According to a complaint filed by a local resident, Ravi visited a shop in Sainj around 5 pm on April 7, and later went to Anil’s workshop, which was adjacent to the complainant’s shop.
The complainant mentioned hearing noises from Anil’s shop shortly after Ravi left. Upon investigating, he overheard Anil speaking loudly on the phone, admitting to having beaten a man to death. When the complainant rushed outside, he discovered Ravi lying in a pool of blood.
The complainant, along with others, immediately took Ravi to Civil Hospital, Theog, and informed the police. Authorities responded swiftly to the scene, collected vital evidence, and arrested the accused. Theog DSP Siddharth Sharma confirmed the incident and stated that a case has been filed under section 103 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Samhita (BNS) 2023.
