Kurukshetra Dist Admn holds night halt event at Bir Mathana village
Deputy Commissioner Neha Singh said the villagers who had been occupying the Panchayat land for 20 years would be able to get their land registered on payment of the collector rate of 2004.
The villagers who fulfil the eligibility criteria of the government scheme will be given benefits.
The Deputy Commissioner, during the night halt event at Bir Mathana village, directed the District Revenue Officer to conduct a survey in the village and identify such people and provide benefits to the eligible people.
Superintendent of Police Varun Singla and officials of several departments were present on the occasion. Various government departments had set up their stalls to make people aware of different government schemes. About 80 complaints related to old- aged pension, electricity, water, street, drain, road construction, BPL ration card, Ayushman card, and housing scheme were heard during the night halt.
On a complaint raised by Kuldeep Kaur, the DC instructed the Public Health Engineering Department to resolve the issue of water supply and directed the officials to ensure that there was no shortage of water during the summers.
Directions were also issued in connection with the complaints related to blocked drain, electricity supply, construction of street, family ID, BPL ration card and installation of CCTV cameras in the village.
The Deputy Commissioner said a survey would be conducted under the Awas Yojana being run by the government and the eligible applicants will get the benefits of the scheme.
Neha Singh said the elderly in the village, who were more than 60 years of age and their old-age pension had not been made, should give their information to the Sarpanch.
The DC directed the sarpanch to prepare a list of all eligible persons for pension and get the applications filled online and also get the income, age certificate, bank account and other important documents updated in their family ID. The sarpanch was further asked to send the list to the DC office so that their problem could be resolved at the earliest.
The DC informed the villagers that the budget for the construction of a community centre in the village had been increased from Rs 2.23 crore to Rs 3.5 crore.
Neha Singh said the villagers often had to go to the officials with their problems and complaints, but today, the entire administration including officials of all departments were sitting among the villagers to listen to their problems. The officials have been directed to resolve the complaints and submit their action-taken report within a week.
