Mishra inspects Khajuri Chowk, vows swift action on traffic, waterlogging in East Delhi
Delhi Minister Kapil Mishra on Tuesday conducted a field inspection of the Khajuri Chowk area in east Delhi to review ongoing development work and address long-standing civic issues. He was accompanied by Union Minister Harsh Malhotra, North East Delhi MP Manoj Tiwari, and Ghonda MLA Ajay Mahawar.
The visit focused on improving traffic flow, addressing encroachments, and tackling persistent problems such as waterlogging and deteriorated road conditions in and around Khajuri Khas.
During the inspection, Mishra issued specific directives to officials for the comprehensive development of the area, with special emphasis on reducing congestion near the busy Khajuri Chowk intersection. Instructions were also given for beautification of the region and swift action on critical civic concerns, including persistent waterlogging near Khajuri police station and the Sabhapur locality.
“This government is taking people’s concerns seriously,” Mishra said. “Large-scale efforts are underway to resolve traffic jams, waterlogging, and the poor condition of roads.”
The minister added that the CM has directed officials to prepare reports on the condition of all key roads across the city and expedite pending development projects. He said that public cooperation is essential for Delhi’s transformation.
Recalling his previous visit to the area in late February, Mishra stressed that regular inspections help understand on-ground issues better. He held discussions with officials about the congestion and damaged roads, reaffirming that improving basic infrastructure is a priority for the government.
He directed concerned agencies to repair broken roads immediately and address basic issues like sewerage and water supply.
