Terrorist attacks are recognised across the globe for their cold-blooded precision and a deep lack of emotion — no hesitation, no fear, no sign of pain. While the terrorist are trained to play such destructive roles, there’s another factor that puts them in a cold-blooded state. Reports tell us that a powerful stimulant pill called Captagon is being used by the terrorist before they go on an attack. The drug reportedly makes them numb to fatigue, hunger, sleep, and even fear. Here are all the details you need to know about the drug.

First use of Captagon drug

The drug named Captagon was first manufactured as an alternative to amphetamine and methamphetamine, which were used to treat narcolepsy, fatigue and some brain disorders.

As per a report by Drug.com, a drug called Dexamphetamine was already being used by the military services to ‘enhance their courage and bravado’ of soldiers and to enable them to stay awake for long periods of time.

How is Captagon drug used?

As a result, the new drug Captagon was supposed to be a milder version of the earlier used medicines. Due to the misuse of the drug, the US government declared it a controlled substance in 1980s and after that, its manufacturing was also ceased in the same decade.

Due to its massive usage among the terrorists in MENA region, the Captagon drug has been touted by media as “The Amphetamine Fueling Syria’s War” or “The Jihadists’ Drug”. Notably, the drug was also recovered from the terrorists who were involved in the 7 October 2023 attack and also the ISIS terrorists who were involved in the 2015 Paris attack in France.

Israel has made public an intelligence document that, according to its officials, reveals a direct financial and operational link between Hamas and Iran, including a request for $500 million to carry out its plans to invade Israel — an attack that was executed on October 7, 2023.

Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz shared the document and accompanying video on social media platform X, stating, “I am presenting here for the first time a document that was found in the tunnels of senior Hamas officials in Gaza, which proves a direct relationship between Iran and Yahya Sinwar and Muhammad Deif, as part of Iran’s support for the Hamas plan to destroy Israel.”
