MP Summer Holidays 2025: The Madhya Pradesh government announced a summer break of 46 days for students who go to private and government schools from May 1 to June 15, 2025. The move seeks to keep students safe from the scorching heat of the summer months. ​

Teachers will have to come back on June 1 to prepare for the next academic term, giving them a somewhat shorter break. This schedule frees up teachers for professional development and administrative preparation before classes start back. ​

The authorities consulted the educational authorities and weather experts before finalizing the decision, especially keeping in mind the need for the safety of the students in the peak summer period. Officials said the extended vacation would help students avoid the harsh summer temperatures. ​

The move has been welcomed by parents and students, though some have raised concerns about possible learning gaps. In response, the department intends to roll out online revision modules over the break. ​

Schools are directed to wrap up all academics and administrative activities in advance of summer break. The new academic session will commence on June 16, 2025. ​

​Apart from the summer vacation, the holiday list of the School Education Department includes holidays for other important festivals of the academic year 2025–26. Schools are to have holidays for Dussehra from October 1 to October 3 and Diwali from October 18 to October 23, followed by a winter break from December 31, 2025, to January 4, 2026.
