Bajaj Chetak Leads the EV Segment in Q4 FY’25 with Highest Sales
Bajaj Chetak has reclaimed its leadership position in the electric two-wheeler space by becoming India’s top-selling electric scooter in the last quarter of FY 2024-25. With an impressive 29% market share by both volume and value, the Chetak has emerged as a clear favourite among buyers, thanks to its strong mix of performance, dependability, and design. This milestone marks a powerful comeback for the iconic Chetak brand, which once ruled Indian roads in the 70s, 80s, and 90s, now making a successful transition into the electric era with renewed trust from customers.
Bajaj Chetak’s strong sales performance in 2024 has been supported by Bajaj Auto’s wide-reaching network of over 3,800 sales and service outlets across the country. The successful launch of the 29 Series and 35 Series has played a major role, together crossing the 2 lakh unit sales mark last year. The 35 Series, known as the “Best Chetak Yet,” stands out with its modern design, integrated floorboard batteries, advanced safety, and smart tech. Buyers continue to connect with the Chetak’s solid build and dependable nature, reinforcing its reputation as a truly lifeproof electric scooter.

Bajaj Auto has played a key role in promoting cleaner transportation in India since it introduced CNG-powered three-wheelers back in 2001. Today, the company holds a strong 28% market share in the combined CNG and electric two- and three-wheeler segments, making it the country’s leading clean fuel mobility brand. Around 40% of Bajaj Auto’s domestic sales now come from electric and CNG vehicles, showing its deep commitment to sustainable mobility. Recent additions like the Bajaj Freedom, the world’s first CNG motorcycle, and the new Bajaj Gogo electric three-wheelers further highlight the company’s push towards a greener future.
