Man arrested for allegedly murdering JCB driver in Theog
One person was on Tuesday arrested for allegedly murdering a JCB driver by beating him to death with a weapon in the Theog Subdivision, Shimla, police said.
The deceased has been identified as Ravi Kumar (35), a resident of Nalaut village in Sundernagar Tehsil, Mandi, while the accused has been identified as Anil (24), a resident of Raudi village in Arki Tehsil, Solan.
According to a complaint filed by a local resident, he stated that on April 7, around 5:00 pm, Ravi visited his shop in Sainj, as well as the workshop of the accused that was adjacent to the complainant’s shop.
He mentioned that after Ravi had left his shop, he went to Anil’s shop, where he heard some noises.
He further stated that when he came out of the shop, he saw that Anil was talking loudly to someone on the phone and said that he had beaten a man to death. When the complainant reached outside Anil’s shop, he saw Ravi lying on the floor in a pool of his blood.
The complainant, along with several other persons, then rushed Ravi to Civil Hospital, Theog, and also informed the police.
A police team reached the spot as soon as it received the information, carried out the investigation, gathered crucial evidence, and also apprehended the accused.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Theog Siddharth Sharma confirmed the report and said that a case under Section 103 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Samhita (BNS) 2023 has been registered against the accused and further investigation is underway.
