Five girl students figure in PSEB class VIII merit list
In the results declared by the Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) on Friday for the eight standard of the session 2025, five students of the border district of Tarn Taran got place in the merit list in which 391 genius students include.
It is a matter of great honour for the gender equality that all the five lucky students are girls. Satnam Singh Bath, District Education Officer (Secondary), said Mehakpreet Kaur, daughter of Ranjodh Singh, of Government Senior Secondary School, Dubli (situated quite on the Indo-Pak border line), by securing 594/600 (99%) marks has got 57th number in the merit list with first place in the district.
Rupleen Kaur, daughter of Kulwinder Singh, Mankirat Kaur, daughter of Amandeep Singh Kang, both of Shaheed Baba Deep Singh Senior Secondary School, Kang, and Neha, daughter of Balwinder Singh, Sri Mahanvir Jain Model High School, Patti, all the three by securing 598 (98.17 %) marks have got placement at 233, 247 and at 250 senior number, respectively. The fifth, Lovepreet Kaur, daughter of Jeevan Singh of New Life Public School, Chohla Sahib, by securing 588 (98%) marks got her place at 264 number in the merit list of total 319 merit holder candidates. Tarsem Singh from the office of the DEO (A) said in the district, a total of 13,330 students appeared in the exam and 13,069 have passed the exam with 98.04 per cent at seventh place in the state.
Rotary Club meeting: A meeting of the Rotary Club was held under its president Surinder Singh Gandhi in Amritsar. The event featured District Governor PS Garrow as the chief guest, along with Meelind Mohiti and Neil Sektari as guests of honour. The Rotary Club has a prestigious history. It was established in 1933, and is the second oldest club in the country. On the occasion, club members lauded its welfare activities.
