BCCI Announce India Women Squad For Tri-Series, Key Pacer Ruled Out: Details Inside

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) have announced India Women's squad for the upcoming ODI tri-series against Sri Lanka Women and South Africa Women, and the 15-woman squad will be led by veteran Harmapreet Kaur.

The official announcement is made on Tuesday, April 8, and the squad is experiencing a major change, as key pacer Renuka Thakur has been ruled out due to injury.

India Women are eyeing ODI World Cup glory, as the tournament will be hosted by them in the month of October. Inspite of all the growth and expansion in Women's Cricket past 10 years, a World Cup has eluded India Women over the years.

Back in October 2024, India Women endured a disappointing T20 World Cup campaign in UAE, where they made a group-stage exit, after defeats to then-reigning champions Australia Women, and eventual-winners New Zealand Women.

Alongside Renuka Thakur, Titas Sadhu too, misses out on the tour due to injury.

The likes of Tejal Hasabnis, Sree Charani, Shuchi Upadhyay, and Kashvee Gautam have a golden chance of shining in Sri Lanka, as the youngsters eye a permanent place in the ODI set-up of India Women.

India’s Squad
